Amy uses an eclectic mix of therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral, Insight-Oriented, Experiential, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, and Positive Psychology. She tailors treatment to fit unique mental, physical and spiritual needs, placing high value on quality care, motivation, and finding what works best for each person, couple, and family. She also integrates Christian faith for those desiring Christian-based counseling.
Amy is passionate about helping others who are struggling with different adjustments and life transitions, navigating through broken relationships, and looking for meaning, peace, and joy in life. She earned her Master's degree in Community Counseling from Regent University in 2009. Since then, she has spent several years working intensively with children and their families to stabilize them in the home setting. Through this, she developed many creative and innovative approaches to working with people who feel "stuck" in their problems. Amy also has had professional training and experience in pre-marital and marital therapy, as well as individual therapy, in a private-practice setting. She authored a clinical strategies article on developing empathy within couples through the Hope Research Project at Regent University. She is currently working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
